LF gatherings

From 2016 - 2022, we gathered queer Jews from across the diaspora on the land we tended in Millerton, NY. Below are many of our past public offerings, along with descriptions from our event publicity at that time. Stay tuned for more documentation of past gatherings through our archive at YIVO.

Praise, Potluck & Party: Celebrating 7 Years of LF at the Close of Shmita // August 28th, 2022

Join us for a day of celebration to mark the close of Linke Fligl after 7 years of serving our queer Jewish community.  Our time together will include a queer-led traditional Hallel service honoring the new month of Elul, followed by a community potluck feast, a chance to offer gratitude to Linke Fligl and the land that has held us, ending with a gay-ass afterparty at our local quarry. Look out for a cute floaty parade ;)

Cry Out into the Night: Tisha B’av Under the Stars // August 6th, 2022

Tisha B'av, the 9th of Av,  marks the destruction of the two temples in Jerusalem and holds space for collective Jewish genocide and loss of home across thousands of years.  This potent time of marking loss in community creates a container in which we can witness one another in our collective grief around land and culture loss.  Where better to honor this day but at a Jewish land project in its closing year!  Join us Saturday, August 6th 9pm - 12am in a queer led reading of Eicha, the traditional text read on Tisha B'av, soulful singing, and space for communal grief tending.

Living into Olam Haba: A 5-Day Gathering at LF // July 6 - 10th 2022

Throughout this 5-day immersive gathering, we will explore and uncover the magic that is unleashed when diasporic queer Jews come together on land. Come learn with and from queer and trans Jewish cultural workers, the land and our transcestors as we dance toward connection with the divine and each other.

Join us for a day on the land to welcome Sukkot! We will gather together for ritual, to build and decorate the sukkah, and to experience the theatrical extravaganza of Pickle Soup, a performance for children of all ages by eccentric hostess Jenny Romaine and Jewish time wheel technician Elana June Margolis and friends.

Linke Fligl Sukkot Magic 5779 // September 27 - 30th, 2018

Join our celebration of folks camping on the land to celebrate Sukkot, the harvest and the coming season. This gathering is structured around meals in the sukkah, the Jewish tradition of praying three times per day and rituals to mark the holiday. Outside of that structure, we use emergent processes to design our time together based on the groups needs and dreams.  This is a co-created space. We want to invite folks who are newer to leading to step into ritual leadership moments!
